Legal and Ethical Issues

Creative Commons is a nonprofit oganization that allows you to share and express your creativity and knowledge through legal tools. Whatever that is created on Creative Commons is not completely copyright, you may modify the copyright term til it suits your needs. You may allow your work to be shared and used or on private.
The word "free" in this case could have many definitions depending on how you look at it. "free" information could mean: no financial cost, the right to share and receive information and the right of free speech.Whether or not if information should be free is a controversial topic among the public. It may be useful and also be harmful. Personal & business' information should definitely not be free. These information may be include social security, financial;credit card infomation, tax & bills and medical records. However, information such as journal articles, news, tv and music may be free because the fact that it is not free, a lot of people rather try to get these information illegally by hacking and stealing. On the other hand, I also support the article "Open source textbook program expanding in coming months", open source book may be alot more helpful with updated information from different sources than traditional textbook. Traditional textbook must be edit and updated to new edition from time to time which cost time and money. As stated from the article, "Deciding to pursue open source textbooks and materials gives the district an opportunity to compile a custom-made text, rather than purchasing traditional textbooks that can quickly become outdated, depending upon the subject."

however, it may be risky since it is copyright free, it might violate the law of ethics, information may be stolen and use by others as their own.

Security and Privacy

Security and Privacy is one of the biggest concerns on the Internet nowadays.Internet users are exposed to many problems being on the web; hacking in password, social security number, credit & personal information, and exposure to inappropriate content, harassment etc...Many tasks may be done through the Internet at the tip of a finger; such as sharing sensitive personal and financial information, these informations can easily be hacked and stolen. Security and privacy on the internet does not only pose risks to adults but also to children. Internet is one of the biggest concerns that parents and educators have for their kids. Youths are easily influenced not only by their peers but mainly by the Internet. As mentioned in the article, The Conundrum of Visibility: Youth Safety and the Internet, " For many youth, technology is part of their everyday lives, and must be examined in that context. The key to addressing online safety is to take a
few steps back and make sense of the lives of youth, the risks and dangers they face, and
the personal, social, and cultural logic behind their practices."
